Legal Information and Website Notice
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. Legal Information and the Status of This Notice
This page contains the legal information that applies to this website, to the business that operates it and to the way visitors may use the material published here. It is a formal notice rather than marketing copy, and it should be read together with our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, our Terms and Conditions and our Payment and Refund Policy. Where those documents deal with a subject in more detail, they take precedence on that subject.
The notice is published to meet the trading disclosure duties that apply to companies in the United Kingdom, the information duties in the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, and the transparency obligations in the UK General Data Protection Regulation. Summaries of those duties are widely published for businesses and their advisers, for example by [contractstore.com](https://www.contractstore.com/blog/business-contracts/what-legal-information-is-required-on-a-website-in-the-uk/) and [stevens-bolton.com](https://www.stevens-bolton.com/insights/102ktmf/provision-of-information-requirements-for-businesses/).
Unless we say otherwise, the words “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator named in the next section, and “the site” refers to this website and every page, form and download made available through it.
2. Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role
This website is owned, operated and published by taletix. We are the person responsible for the content that appears here, for the way the site is maintained and for the personal data that is collected through it. We act in two capacities: as the publisher of technical and editorial material about live television production, and as a commercial supplier of production support and related services to professional clients.
Our subject matter is live production. The site covers studio equipment integration, dynamic camera technique, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups and the operational discipline that keeps news programmes, interviews and live shows on air reliably. Nothing on this site is a substitute for the judgement of a qualified crew on site, and we do not accept editorial responsibility for third-party specifications or for the way a reader applies general guidance to a particular studio.
If you need to verify our legal identity, you can do so free of charge using the registration number given below, which leads to our public record at Companies House.
3. Legal Form, Registration Details and Tax Identifiers
The operator is a private company limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales under the Companies Act 2006. The following statutory identifiers are published in line with the trading disclosure requirements for United Kingdom companies, which require a company to display its registered name, its registered number, the part of the United Kingdom in which it is registered and its registered office address on its website, business letters and order forms ([webmasters.stackexchange.com](https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/31842/is-it-a-legal-requirement-to-display-company-registration-details)).
- Registered name: taletix
- Legal form: private company limited by shares
- Company Registration Number: 13033970
- Place of Registration: England and Wales
- VAT Number: 494089156
- Registered Office Address: The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, M50 2EQ, United Kingdom
- Responsible director: Jon Howarth
- Principal business activity: supply, integration and support of camera, lighting and studio equipment for film, television and live media production
These identifiers match the corporate imprint we publish on our business documents and confirm publicly at [shootblue.tv](https://shootblue.tv/imprint/). We do not carry on a regulated profession and we are not a member of a statutory professional body whose registration must be disclosed. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Where a production requires a licence or permission — for example a permit to film in a public place, a road closure, or a spectrum licence for radio microphones — responsibility for obtaining and holding that permission rests with the production company commissioning the work, and we are happy to help with the paperwork on request. We hold no registrations other than our entry on the register at Companies House and the VAT register maintained by HM Revenue & Customs.
4. Registered Office, Contact Details and Complaint Routes
Our registered office is The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, M50 2EQ, United Kingdom. This is the address at which formal notices and legal documents may be served on the company and at which our statutory records are kept. It is not necessarily the address at which equipment is stored or from which crews are dispatched.
You can reach us in the following ways:
- Email: Christine@christinepykemedia.com
- Telephone: +44 161 886 5300
- Postal address: The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, M50 2EQ, United Kingdom
- Contact form: our Contacts page, which delivers messages to the same monitored mailbox
We aim to answer enquiries within two working days. The Provision of Services Regulations 2009 require a service provider to give contact details that allow rapid and direct communication and to explain how complaints and requests for further information can be made. If you are unhappy with a service, please write to Christine@christinepykemedia.com with the word “Complaint” in the subject line: we will acknowledge your message within five working days and give a substantive reply within twenty working days. If we cannot resolve a matter between us, section 13 explains the further options open to consumers in the United Kingdom.
5. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website
This site is a professional hub for live television production. Its purpose is to gather practical, experience-based material on studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups and the production processes that make news programmes, interviews and live shows reliable. Content is written for a working professional readership: producers, technical directors, vision mixers, sound supervisors, lighting directors, studio managers, freelancers, students on production courses and the staff of in-house corporate studios.
The site is intended primarily for readers in the United Kingdom and, where a subject is relevant, for readers elsewhere. It is not aimed at children and it is not a consumer shopping channel. Where we describe equipment, configurations or workflows we do so in general terms: every studio has different ceiling heights, mains capacity, acoustic properties and crew skill levels, so guidance must be adapted to local conditions and to the current documentation issued by the manufacturer of the equipment concerned.
We publish this information free of charge. Access does not create any professional relationship, and no content on the site constitutes structural, electrical, health and safety or legal advice on which you should rely without taking your own qualified advice.
6. Access to the Website and Acceptable Use
You may browse the site free of charge. Access is granted on a temporary basis, and we may change, suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of the site, including any feature, without notice and without liability. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, that access will be uninterrupted, or that the content is free of errors.
When using the site you agree to act lawfully and not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of applicable broadcasting, sanctions or export regulations;
- copy, reproduce, republish or redistribute substantial parts of the content for commercial purposes without our written consent;
- use automated tools to scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, or to place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system, or to introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful material;
- misrepresent your identity in the contact form, submit abusive or knowingly false messages, or use the form to send unsolicited commercial communications.
Where we provide an interactive facility, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for keeping any credentials confidential. We may suspend access if we reasonably believe the site is being misused. You are also responsible for your own equipment, software and network connection, and for making the arrangements needed to access the site.
7. Ownership of Content, Trade Marks and Permitted Use
All content on this site — text, diagrams, photographs, illustrations, page layouts, code, and the selection and arrangement of the material — is owned by taletix or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, database rights and design rights under the law of the United Kingdom. The site name, logos and other brand features are our trade marks. Third-party names, product names and logos that appear in our content remain the property of their respective owners and are used descriptively to identify equipment, standards and practices.
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to view the site and to print or save individual pages for your own internal professional reference. That licence does not permit you to:
- publish, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise distribute our content commercially, in whole or in part;
- incorporate substantial extracts into training material, tenders, presentations or another website without our prior written permission;
- remove or alter any copyright, trade mark or attribution notice; or
- create a derivative work that suggests our endorsement, sponsorship or partnership.
Short quotations with clear attribution are acceptable. If you would like to reuse material more extensively, or if you believe that anything on this site infringes your rights, please write to Christine@christinepykemedia.com: we respond promptly and will remove or amend material where a valid complaint is established.
8. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability
We take care over what we publish, but production technology moves quickly. Firmware changes, equipment is superseded, rooms are re-fitted and working practices evolve. Content is provided for general guidance only and is published without any warranty as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Availability figures, prices and specifications quoted by manufacturers should always be verified against their current documentation before you commit to a purchase, a hire or a rig.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by sections 9 to 11 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that:
- we exclude, so far as the law allows, all conditions, warranties and other terms that might otherwise be implied by statute or common law;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of production time, loss of anticipated savings, or any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability in connection with any contract for services is limited to the total fees paid by you for the service concerned in the twelve months preceding the claim; and
- we are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including power failures, network outages, strikes, industrial action, adverse weather or public health restrictions.
If you are a consumer, these limitations do not affect your statutory rights and must be read subject to the consumer protection legislation described in section 11.
9. External Links and Third-Party Content
Our pages may refer to manufacturers, studios, broadcasters, standards bodies, training providers or other websites that we consider useful. Those references are provided for information and convenience. We do not control third-party sites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, availability, terms of use or privacy practices. A reference to a third party is not an endorsement of that party or of its products.
Where technical documentation, diagrams or standards issued by others are described, we summarise them in our own words so far as possible; the original document remains the authoritative version. If you follow a reference to another website, that site’s own terms and privacy notice will apply, and any contract you enter into with a third party is between you and that party alone. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third parties, including suppliers of equipment, software, cloud services or connectivity.
We do not display third-party advertising on this site. Any embedded third-party content that could set cookies on your device is loaded only after you have given consent through our cookie banner, so that no non-essential cookie is placed before you choose to accept it.
10. Personal Data, Cookies and Electronic Communications
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site and we process it in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). When we collect personal data from you, the law requires us to give you certain information at the point of collection — among other things the name and contact details of the controller, the purposes of processing, the lawful basis, any recipients, details of transfers outside the United Kingdom, retention periods and your rights. The Information Commissioner’s Office publishes detailed guidance on this duty ([ico.org.uk](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/uk-gdpr-guidance-and-resources/individual-rights/the-right-to-be-informed/what-privacy-information-should-we-provide/)).
In practice:
- What we collect: the details you enter in the contact form (name, organisation, email address, telephone number and message), together with limited technical data such as device type and pages visited where you have consented to analytics cookies.
- Why we process it: to answer your enquiry, to provide services you request, to keep records of our dealings and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Lawful bases: your consent (for example for non-essential cookies and marketing), performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in running a professional business and keeping the site secure, and compliance with legal obligations.
- Sharing: our hosting provider, our email provider, professional advisers and, where necessary, law enforcement or regulators. We do not sell personal data.
- Retention: enquiry records are kept for up to two years after the last contact, and financial records for six years as required by tax law.
- Transfers: where a supplier processes data outside the United Kingdom we rely on adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Agreement, and we apply appropriate safeguards.
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time; withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out beforehand. You may complain to us at Christine@christinepykemedia.com or to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We use cookies for essential functions such as remembering your cookie choices and securing forms. Non-essential cookies — for example analytics that help us understand which guidance is most useful — are set only after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the banner or your browser settings, and you can block or delete cookies; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working. Further detail is set out in our Cookie Policy.
11. Consumer Contracts, Prices, Payment and Refunds
This section summarises how we handle orders and payments and should be read with our Terms and Conditions and our Payment and Refund Policy.
Business customers. Services supplied to a business are governed by our written quotation and our Terms and Conditions. Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise, and our VAT Number is given in section 3. Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice, and we reserve our rights under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where invoices are paid late. Risk in hired equipment passes on delivery and remains with the customer until it is collected or returned in the condition in which it was supplied.
Consumers. If you buy as a consumer you benefit from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Before you are bound we give you the information those regulations require, including a description of the service, the total price inclusive of VAT, the arrangements for payment and delivery, the duration of the contract and, where applicable, the model cancellation form. For distance contracts concluded through this site you normally have fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded to cancel without giving a reason, and any refund is made within fourteen days of cancellation using the same means of payment you used. The right to cancel does not apply where a service has been fully performed with your express consent and acknowledgement that you lose that right, and it does not apply to bespoke or made-to-order items.
Where services are supplied we must perform them with reasonable care and skill, and any information we give that you rely on when deciding to enter the contract forms part of it. Where goods are supplied they must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something goes wrong, write to Christine@christinepykemedia.com and we will repair, repeat, replace or refund in line with your statutory rights.
12. Additional Compliance Statements
Modern slavery and human trafficking. We support the objectives of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Commercial organisations with a global turnover of £36 million or more must publish a slavery and human trafficking statement each financial year and provide a prominent link to it from their home page. We apply the same principles in our supply relationships: we expect suppliers of equipment, freight, catering and crew services to act lawfully and ethically, and we will not knowingly work with a supplier that uses forced or trafficked labour.
Health and safety. Live production carries real risks — rigging, trailing cables, heat, moving equipment and work at height. Nothing on this site replaces a proper risk assessment, a studio-specific method statement, or the training and supervision required by health and safety law.
Accessibility. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA for the content we control, so that the site can be used by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation or magnification. As a commercial site we are not bound by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we apply the same standard as good practice, and we consider requests for content in an alternative format in line with our duties under the Equality Act 2010. If you have difficulty using the site, please tell us at Christine@christinepykemedia.com.
Business conduct. We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption under the Bribery Act 2010, we comply with applicable sanctions and export controls, and we process payments through regulated providers.
Environment. We encourage efficient energy use in studios, sensible lamp, battery and equipment recycling, and the repair of equipment rather than its premature replacement.
13. Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights
This notice, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except as set out below.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply where you live. Nothing in this notice removes rights you have under the consumer law of your country of residence where that law applies to the contract.
Before starting formal proceedings, please raise the issue with us at Christine@christinepykemedia.com; most problems are resolved quickly by a conversation. Where a consumer dispute cannot be settled directly, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is available through certified ADR providers in the United Kingdom. We are not obliged to take part in an ADR procedure and we decide case by case whether to do so; a refusal does not prevent you from going to court. Business customers agree to attempt good-faith discussion for thirty days before issuing proceedings.
14. Changes to This Notice, Severability and How to Reach Us
We review this page regularly. We may amend it at any time by publishing an updated version with a new “last updated” date, and material changes will be highlighted on this page for a reasonable period. Continuing to use the site after a change means that you accept the revised notice. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be treated as deleted and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
The English language version of this notice is the authoritative version; if it is translated for convenience, the English text prevails.
If you have a question about this notice, about how we handle personal data, or about a contract, please write to taletix at The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, M50 2EQ, United Kingdom, email Christine@christinepykemedia.com or telephone +44 161 886 5300. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
