Payment and Refund Policy
Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses and related services offered through taletix. It explains how payments are handled, when contracts are formed, and the circumstances under which refunds may be granted. The policy is designed to comply with UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and the UK GDPR where personal data is processed in connection with transactions.
Scope of the Policy and Services Covered
This policy covers all paid courses provided by taletix that focus on live television production topics such as studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups, and reliable production processes for news programmes, interviews, and live shows. It applies to both individual course purchases and any bundled access to training materials or live sessions. Physical goods are not sold through the site, and this policy does not extend to third-party products or services accessed via external links.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. Additional charges such as payment processing fees are not levied separately on customers. Prices may change from time to time, but the price at the time of order confirmation remains binding. No hidden fees apply for standard course access or digital delivery.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and other secure online payment gateways commonly used in the United Kingdom. Payment is authorised at the point of purchase. All transactions are processed through secure, encrypted connections that meet current industry standards for data protection under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. taletix does not store full card details on its systems.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
When you complete a purchase, you will receive an order confirmation email containing details of the course, price paid, and access instructions. A binding contract is formed only upon successful payment authorisation and issuance of this confirmation. Until that point, no obligation exists on either side. Course access is granted immediately after confirmation for digital content, subject to the cancellation rules below.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under UK law you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract formation during which you may cancel without providing a reason. For digital content such as on-demand course modules, this right is lost once you begin downloading or streaming the material, unless you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge the loss of cancellation rights. Live sessions or scheduled services may be cancelled within the 14-day window if they have not yet commenced.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available within the cooling-off period where the right has not been lost through consumption of digital content. No refunds are provided after the 14-day period, for completed live sessions, or where materials have been substantially accessed. Promotional or discounted courses purchased as part of a limited-time offer are subject to the same rules but may carry additional non-refundable terms stated at purchase.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact Christine@christinepykemedia.com or use the contact form on the Contacts page. Include your order number, full name, and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may also write to The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, M50 2EQ, United Kingdom or call +44 161 886 5300. Requests must be made within the applicable time limits. No special form is required, but providing the order reference speeds processing.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification
Upon receipt of a refund request, taletix will review eligibility within five working days. You will be notified by email whether the request is approved or rejected, with reasons provided for any rejection. If approved, processing begins immediately. You may appeal a rejection by providing further evidence of eligibility.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds are issued using the original payment method wherever possible. Processing typically takes up to 14 days, although credit card refunds may appear sooner depending on your provider. Bank transfers may require additional verification. You will receive confirmation once the refund has been initiated.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Services
Because most offerings consist of digital course content, immediate access often waives the 14-day cancellation right once streaming or downloading begins. Subscriptions, if offered, renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. No partial refunds are given for unused portions of a subscription period after the cooling-off window closes.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
If a payment fails, you will be notified and given the opportunity to retry with an alternative method. Duplicate charges are investigated promptly and corrected by refund where verified. Chargebacks are treated as refund requests and may result in restricted future access. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account suspension pending investigation, in line with our obligations under UK financial regulations.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable legislation. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If any term of this policy conflicts with mandatory law, the statutory provision prevails. For complaints that cannot be resolved directly, you may refer the matter to the relevant ombudsman or trading standards authority.
